My path into tax preparation grew from something I quickly discovered I genuinely enjoy — helping people make sense of their taxes and feel more comfortable with the process.
During my first professional tax season, I prepared 164 individual tax returns and gained hands-on experience working with a wide variety of tax situations. That experience confirmed what I already suspected: tax preparation was something I wanted to continue pursuing and make my own.
School Creek Taxes was created to provide professional tax preparation in an environment that feels personal, approachable and local. I believe clients should be able to ask questions, understand what is happening with their return, and feel confident that their tax situation is receiving individual attention.
Why "School Creek"?
School Creek Taxes has roots close to home — quite literally.
A small creek runs through our property and eventually flows into the Ontelaunee Creek. But the name School Creek also carries a piece of our local history.
As Pennsylvania's public school system developed during the 1800s, Lynn Township was divided into neighborhood school districts, each served by its own one-room schoolhouse. School Creek came to be known by its name because its path crossed properties associated with several of these neighborhood schoolhouses on the north side of the growing New Tripoli community.
When it came time to choose a name for my new business, my husband suggested School Creek Taxes. It immediately felt right.
I wanted a name that was unique, meaningful and connected to the community I call home. The schoolhouse and flowing creek in the School Creek Taxes logo bring that story together — honoring the area's history, our connection to the creek today and the personal, local service behind School Creek Taxes.
